You never know what is going to happen on the SunVenture. Family and friends alike embark on a new adventure on each and every SunVenture cruise. Captain Rick not only entertains, but also educates his groups with tidbits of information on the history of Destin Florida and its waters. The dolphin cruises are called eco cruises because Captain Rick shares knowledge of shipwrecks and Florida’s wildlife.

The SunVenture is cruising through a fun summer filled with great memories with new friends and families. Each week, our guests comment on how glad they are not to have to drive into Destin to cruise the local waters. The SunVenture has become a popular and welcomed new cruise option for daily dolphin and Crab Island cruises.
Each week, priceless memories are created as Captain Rick ‘ventures’ out on a quest to find the dolphins or the perfect spot on Crab Island to drop anchor. Lately, we’ve had some honorary captains take the helm like the Watson brothers during their eco-dolphin tour. Move over Captain Rick…there are some new captains in town!
Don’t miss the boat on the easiest way to cruise in Destin Florida. Skip the traffic into Destin and park the car at the Sandestin resort.
From creating family memories to hosting a fantastic private charter to Crab Island to trailing dolphins behind seafood vessels, it was one weekend we will never forget.
With amazing weather comes a stunning sunset which was the perfect way to kick off the holiday weekend. Captain Rick had some honorary captains (like Katie from Mississippi) who helped navigate the SunVenture behind the Will-B into the sunset as guests watched the dolphins and relaxed in the tranquil waters of the bay.
Crab Island is THE place to be to celebrate Memorial Day weekend and we couldn’t have asked for a better group for a private charter. Georgia’s finest group of men and women brought an even more electric vibe to Crab Island’s pristine waters and transformed the SunVenture into the ultimate party boat. Our crew also provided lunch on the boat that included a festive hamburger bar.
Here’s what Marla had to say about the trip: “”Our group had the BEST time on this boat going out to Crab Island! Thank you so much! You always thought of us, including when you brought out the coolers of drinks to us when we were playing volleyball/ listening to the DJ. You guys are AMAZING! Seriously cannot thank you enough.”
To top the weekend off, Captain Rick had the honor to host another honorary captain – Miss Sarah, an Atlanta Hawks cheerleader. We know what you’re thinking….he got paid for a weekend like this? Yes, he does have the best job in the world.

The month of May is filled with activity as the school year ends, graduation ceremonies occur and we honor those who sacrifice their lives for our freedom. Memorial Day weekend is about spending time with family and friends as you celebrate the start of a ‘fun in the sun’ summer. There’s no better place than Destin Florida to celebrate with sugar white beaches and a plethora of Destin Florida attractions to keep you busy.
What would Memorial Day be without fireworks? The SunVenture crew is planning the ultimate celebration, combining dolphins, a stunning sunset and colorful fireworks. The weekend kicks off Friday, 5/24 with a dolphin and sunset cruise, followed by a 5 hour excursion to Crab Island on Sunday which is sure to be the central point of all the fun.
Sunday night, the SunVenture will head out for a specialty cruise that will end with a bang. Sightsee with the dolphins and cruise into the sunset. Then enjoy the best seat in the house with a panaromic view of the fireworks from the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.
Memorial Day is one of the busiest weekends in Destin Florida but luckily you don’t have to drive into Destin to catch a cruise or see the fireworks. Just park at the Sandestin Resort and spend your precious time on the water, not in gridlock.
